BDC Goes International  Thanks to Killerson we have yet another server to add to the growing list BDC (now worldwide) network of UT servers. Announcing BDC CLAN EUROSERVER. That's right! As in Europe. IP is 217.115.192.49 or click on the server name to go now. No one has informed me of this, but with a little investigation, I figure the server to be located in the Netherlands, probably somewhere near or in Amsterdam. I tried it and the ping was excellent up here from Seattle way. Get over there and do some fraggin!!

Party Time!! BDC-West was Down but not out If something can fail, it will. In BDC-West's case, this is exactly what happened. In this case, everything that could possibly fail did. But, that is now in the past hopefully. We had the nimdA virus, tape backup fail and lately DNS problems. All these have been corrected now. We do not anticipate anymore sustained outages. Of course you never know, but I think we are past it now. I am putting together a backup server and placing it on standby just in case Osama or whom ever attacked us tries again. All I gotta say is SCREW YOU!! LOL! Now let's get back to our main business of fraggin'. And business is good!

DM-BDC Master Gonzo's DoJang Final release Thank you to all whom participated in our level release party this weekend. it was a huge success. [BDC]Bloodlord was able to get a lot of feedback for his latest creation, DM-BDC Master Gonzo's DoJang  He did some work on it and was extremely successful in the reduction in total polycounts, to make it a very viable internet UTDM. His latest version is now available for download, so grab it here. I was also able to gain access into our main BDC file redirect area, and get it uploaded there, for much quicker download during game play (thanks go out to Dave for that one). Hopefully I will get my latest project, DM-BDC Bitch Slap in some sort of playable state within the next week or two, and maybe, just maybe, we will be looking at another level release party again sometime in the near future. Again, a big thank you goes out  to everyone who participated this  weekend, to make this whole affair a huge success. Needless to say we are very happy with the results. Keep on fraggin!

BDC Servers Testing Valhalla Avatar Beta Thanks to our own DoGGZz[20o0] working closely with the bunch that put Valhalla Avatar together, many of the BDC Network Servers are now test running Valhalla Avatar Beta. This mod allows the use of skins and voices, regardless whether or not they are actually being served up by the  UT server. In other words, you can log onto a Valhalla Avatar configured server with XX skin and XX voice packages, and if the server doesn't have these packages loaded, you may still use them. If any other players connected at the time also have these packages installed on their local UT setup, they will be able to see your skin and hear your voice packages, just as you do. If these players connected at the time do not have the XX packages they will see skins and voices that are default for the particular class you are using. This is a good reason to download all the popular skins and voice packs and have them available on your local UT setup. BDC3 and BDCNY has it running as well as BDC1 Skin Heaven with much success. Try it, you'll like it.

BDC War Generals and adding new members  In an attempt to streamline the addition of new BDC members, as well as to allow BDC to grow at a faster rate, we have changed the procedure by which the addition of new players occur. All decisions as to the adding of new players, will be made by the newly formed BDC WG (War General) council. However, this does not mean BDC members have no say as to the addition of new players. What this means is, if a BDC member has someone they would like to add, that member must contact one or more WGs to advise them and make them aware of this candidate. This should be done, preferably via private email. If the WG deems that person worthy, the player will be brought to the attention of the WG council for a vote. If that vote is successful, the results will be posted here in the form of a welcome to BDC statement and a notice of update will be issued via BDC clan only mail list. BDC members: If you have any comments please contact your WG of choice.

New BDC Server Thanks to our good friend Domingo, [BDC]DragginBallz, we have a new server, BDC Clan NYC Top Killers (aka BDC5). Dom went out and sprung for a T3 connection which should make for some good ping-rates worldwide. A BDC5 stats button has been added, and BDC5 has also been added to the server status page. Thanks a lot Dom. You da man!

The Gods applied their wrath on Seattle! That's Right! The Gods applied their wrath upon the Northwest today with an earthquake that measured 6.8 on the Richter scale & caused billions of dollars (US currency, Wolf) of damage. The Gods couldn't manage to knock out the BDC servers though (knock on particle board).

Black Days of Chaos A lot of stuff going on already this year at BDC. First off, we have settled on the new name Black Days of Chaos. We were formerly Bellevue Data Comm. You like that? You gotta cause, that's the way it is.

Quake III arena Server @ BDC I have set up a Q3a server on the BDC4 server. The BDC4 UT server will continue to run also as I have filled it up with plenty of dimms. Although, I can see it from here as I write this. It looks like the CPU is sweating! But, what the hell. If it turns to pure carbon and smoke, who really gives a damn. There's plenty of CPU's in the computer sea right? I'll be upgrading again soon so, whatever.

A New Level (Finale) DM-BDC Monster Kill !!! final release has gone gold and was released to the world at large today. Thanks to Dave (Maverick) Downie for the preview screenshot graphics and thanks to those of you whom took the time to come onto BDC4 and help get it playtested. DM-BDC Office Party will go gold soon. UT Map Manager I found a nice proggie I think you all will be interested in. It's called UT Map Manager. It takes the files from your cache folder and correctly names them and installs them into their proper folders. It does more than the name suggests though, it not only converts maps but it also moves skins, voices and any other mods you may have downloaded. Try it, you'll like it. Get it here.

DM- BDC Office Party! Release candidate? I was just getting ready to release  DM-BDC Office Party! RC1 when I got word that Drone6 wants to make some additions to it. Drone6 was indeed the original author of the map, I was just finishing it and making it playable for release, or so I thought. So, I guess the filename may be slightly inappropriate as it my take on new form. For what it's worth you can download what I thought was to be the release candidate here. DM- BDC PsyCow Bitch! Goes Gold I have just released DM-BDC PsyCow Bitch! to the public, if anyone is interested. You can get it here. Also,  it is now on rotation at BDC3. Thanks to everyone whom helped in the play testing at BDC4. I will be sure to mention all of you that took the time to help in the text file which will be released with the level. I plan to upload it to various sites for review and downloading, as soon as the text file is ready.

DM BDC-PsYChO BiTcH RC2 Release of RC2 is imminent. I expect by this evening I will be releasing it to the general public. Although there will be one more final release, I feel it is playable now & we might as well use it. The only thing new are a few cosmetic fixes, I fine tuned the pickups a little bit and have the bots trained to use their translocaters in key areas. Yes, you do have to tell the bots to do everything they do in a level. For instance, you have to put info into the level, to get them to use a lift, where to use their translocater and even where they are to walk. Ya, they're not very bright but, one thing they can do that us humans can't is, summon elevators and lifts for their own use. That could be handy.

New Logos @ BDCWest A big round of thanks to [BDC]Maverick for the nice logos he put together for www.bdc-west.com chapter of our beloved BDC Clan. He made two of them for us & said to use the one I like. Well, I like them both! So I put the one with a snapshot of me walking into work (Hey, I'm lookin' good!) on top and the other one at the bottom. Big thanks goes out to M-M-M-M-Maverick.

DM BDC-PsYChO BiTcH RC1 Release Candidate One has been out on BDC4 for few days. I have received no feedback as of this writing. Come on now, is it really that good, or is it really that bad? You must be a member of BDC Clan to test this level.

New BDC Champion! The match last night was scheduled to pit challenger {BDC}_BloodLord vs  {BDC}DoGGZz[2000]. After a long period of high ping rates spanning 3 Team BDC Network UT Servers, BloodLord had to postpone his challenge for another night as he was expected at work. [BDC]Max stepped in with a challenge to take on DoGGZz after BloodLords departure. By the end of a long and grueling 1 on 1 match, a new BDC Clan champion had emerged. Max beat the former BDC Heavyweight Champion by a score of 30 to 28. After the match, former champion DoGGZz[2000] said "Max was just too much for me tonight! He really is the best."
